I’ve paid quite a bit for it. Whenever we pay for a good or a service, we’re really paying for the assurance or faith that our lives will improve.
I paid a church to give me faith in God and His way of doing life. Never had true life before, and now I love it.
I paid Christ for the Nations Institute to give me the faith to preach, teach, counsel and lead. Never was a pastor before that, and now I love it.
I paid AT&T for the faith to communicate instantly to the world in whatever medium I wished. Never had a smart phone before that, and now I love it.
I paid Graham’s Automall for faith to drive around in a Honda minivan. Never had a Honda before, and now I love it.
I paid Apple to renew my faith in computer technology. Vista kind of killed whatever faith I had, now I love computers again.
I paid an OB/GYN for faith in modern medicine’s way of bringing life into the world.
Some of the faith I’ve purchased worked well for me. Some did not.
That’s why I paid a midwife for the faith to believe in God’s way of bringing life into the world and in the ability of my wife’s body to deliver.
And I love it.
