One thing I've been pondering lately is the beauty of the trinitarian expression of God. He shows Himself to us in Three Persons. Yes, He owns everything, yet He exists in this divine community of endless giving. The Father gives the Son a name above all names, exalts Him, puts all of His enemies under His feet, just to name a few. A cursory look at other deities in mythology and one will find many divine fathers at odds with their estranged children.

The Son then gives credit, glory, and thanks to His Father at every turn. He even presents His disciples to His Father, the same ones His Father gave Him. The Holy Spirit draws all men to Jesus. He guides believers into the Truth, Jesus. He only does what glorifies the Son. And the Son warns everyone that they can reject and blaspheme Him, but the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.

Each Person of the Trinity is shown giving preference, glory, and honor to the other. They could covet each others status, position, or role. But they love one another in the same way He commands us to. In this way, we cannot say that God is not greedy because He owns everything, He is not greedy because He alone is good.

God is rich and not greedy, good point. Obviously, there is nothing for Him to covet since He owns it all, but He has freely shared everything with us. He wants us to enjoy His level of wealth, but our greed often disqualifies us. Yet, not having stuff does not mean we do not have greed. It would appear that so many of the "Occupiers" are ate up with not having the stuff that others have. Greed and covetousness all are rooted in the same pot.

God does show us when we are seeking Him for answers. It's like Elisha asked the poor widow who was going to lose her two sons to debtor's prison, "What do you have in your house?" At first, she said she had nothing because that's how she felt. The reality was, though, that she did have something at her disposal that could be used to get out of debt. She was simply overwhelmed as we all are when we face our debts. You encouraged me, today. Thank you!

Thank you, Grandma! I'll take this encouragement to heart. The same is true for me and any other reader. It's fresh when we read it. The lag time between the author writes and the reader reads can be excruciating for the writer, though! Thank you for reminding me to keep coming with more fresh ideas.

Yes, we can't get mad at the lender when he wants what is owed to him no matter how often he calls to inquire payment.I'm very grateful to my husband for being senitive and dilengent in not allowing us the fancies of life until the debt is paid. Such peace of mind!Yes, its a most difficult lesson to learn to be content with what you have but its so veryrewarding also to learn to use and give out of ones treasures that he possesses.

Joseph, I'm glad to see that you haven't stopped writing. Even tho i don't read it fresh at the time you write it...its still fresh to me when I get a chance to sit down and read from my favorite writer.:) I understand your reason to take inventory of your time and privorities. You are a blessing to many that know you and who are apart of what you do and who you are. I encourage you to keep on keeping on if you can. I am a very proud and grateful grandmother.
